Renew Your Protocol

Contacts
IACUC Office Staff:

Log into ARROW

To locate the protocol you wish to renew: click on "My Home;" scroll down and under My Research-Approved, find the protocol you wish to renew.

Click on the title of the protocol to be taken to the protocol workspace.

Click on "Start Protocol Update"

Select "Renewal" from the update type. If the Renewal selection is lined out, you will not be able to initiate a renewal at this time. If you have questions, please contact your protocol manager.

ARROW will generate a copy of the currently-approved protocol. You will modify and submit that copy as the renewal.

If ARROW does not automatically redirect you to the copied protocol, you can find it in one of two ways:

In the currently approved version of the protocol under the History tab, you can locate the created renewal. Click on the protocol number to be taken to the renewal workspace.

Click "My Home" and using the search box, enter the number of the protocol PLUS Rxx to find the protocol in your My Inbox. Click on the title to be taken to the workspace.

In the protocol workspace, click on "Edit Protocol."

You must modify the text on two renewal-specific pages:

*Significance and Justification - question 1 will ask you to describe your renewal progress

*Number of Animals - question 2 will ask you to provide an updated justification based on the work you have completed and the number of animals you will require for the next 3 years.

Make any other updates or edits to your protocol to reflect the live animal work you wish to perform in the next three years. For clarity, remove all descriptions of experiments and tests that you have completed and will not repeat. Once you are done, click "Save" and then "Exit." In the protocol workspace, click "Submit."
