Courses

Anyone with a UW NetID may take an RARC open-access course. To view or sign up for courses, click on the course title.

To see a brief description of any course—open or closed access—hover the cursor over the course title.

Individuals must be listed as research or teaching staff on an approved protocol to sign up for RARC closed-access courses. Staff members unsure of their status on a protocol should contact the principal investigator. Training Records shows what courses protocol members are required to complete.

Mouse Procedural Techniques: To view PDFs and videos of mouse techniques taught in the hands-on mouse class, go to your Training Record and access them under "course supplements." Prerequisites: Biomethodology of the Mouse

Rat Procedural Techniques: To view PDFs and videos of rat techniques taught in the hands-on rat class, go to your Training Record and access them under "course supplements." Prerequisites: Biomethodology of the Rat

Tissue Collection: Individualized training sessions with the RARC veterinary pathologists are available. This training covers basic harvesting and tissue isolation techniques. Contact the RARC trainers to set up an appointment. Prerequisites: Animal User Orientation

Stereotactic Surgery and Perfusion: Training available includes small animal (rodents, birds) stereotactic surgery and small animal intra-cardiac perfusion. To set-up a training, contact the RARC trainers.

Equipment Loan: RARC lends surgery and monitoring equipment at no cost. To see a list of available equipment, click here.
